Terabyte Station music recording computers are built with a focus of reliability, compatiblity and performance. Our systems are custom built with the latest components and technology. We start with Antec cases and power supplies for the foundation of a stable computer. Industry standard components, like Intel motherboards and Nvidia chipset graphic cards, allow our hardware to be ultra compatible with today's add-ons and software programs. Terabyte Station Music Recording Computers are designed to work, and work and keep on working.
Here are some of our thoughts about computers that we build:
Terabyte Station Computers are custom designed to meet your musical needs. Each system is built to order in Bend, Oregon and configured by our highly trained technicians.
Motherboard and processor graphics card:
We prefer Intel motherboards and processors for our system builds because they are rock solid and super compatible. We are pleased to feature the Second Generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors in our systems. NVidia chipsets are recommended for graphic controllers.
Case and power supply:
Antec is an industry leader in power supply and computer chassis design and production. Their reliability and quality is often copied but ultimately unmatched. We choose Antec cases because they are sturdy and very, very quiet. We have new Antec power supply upgrade options with our systems, up to 1200 WATTS!
Ram:
We exclusively use Crucial Technologies ram in our system builds. Each module is backed by a lifetime warranty.
Hard drives:
We recommend to use a solid state hard drive in your computer. We also use Western Digital traditional drives for data storage. Some may argue that the hard drive is the most important part of your system. Other parts can be replaced if they fail, but if you lose a hard drive, you could also lose your DATA!!! This leaves no room for error and is why we RELY on Intel and Western Digital to provide us with top quality hard drives. Of course, there is no replacement for backing up on a regular basis.
Take a step into the future and have your system built with a Solid State Drive. Solid State Drives (SSD) have no moving parts and are incredibly fast and quiet. Intel provides us with our high quality SSD Drives.
Dvd+/-RW or Blue-ray?
A Blue-ray drive would be a nice investment because it allows you to create CD's , DVD's and discs with the new Blue Ray technology. Blue Ray technology would allow you to backup and store your music projects. Blue Ray discs hold about 5 times the capacity of a DVD disc.
Microsoft Operating System:
We are currently building our systems with Microsoft Windows 7 x64 Professional Edition. We feel that it is the most compatible operating system with current audio hardware and software. Please ask us if you would like a different operating system on your machine.
Add a sound card.
Our systems are ready for you to add your USB 2.0, PCI or Firewire sound interface. Our custom windows installations are set to allow you to add your sound hardware with no conflicts.
Backup:
We include original installation CD's and DVD's so that you or your technician can restore your system to its original factory setup at any time.
